So /a/ generally I'm a real hardarse and don't really care about the lack of romance in my life. Sure I have one night stands, but never really had a serious relationship, or any desire to be in one.

Then I watch an anime or read a visual novel, and suddenly crave having someone to hold, and talk to all through the night, not for sex but just...the pleasure of intimate company.

Am I fucked?

Only a little bit. Anime and visual novels are often written deliberately to "tug at your heart strings" so to speak, what with all that moe business and the like. You have to remember that it's very fantastical and stylised though. Honestly, too much anime like that can make you end up as a very unhappy delusional chappy I think.
